Rectangular Tin Boxes are the most widely used general metal packaging in the fields of food packaging, daily chemical storage, gift boxes and electronic parts storage. Compared with special-shaped tin boxes, rectangular tin boxes occupy the mainstream market thanks to their regular structure, high stacking adaptability and low-cost mass production advantages. However, most ordinary rectangular tin boxes on the market generally suffer from common defects such as skewed corner angles, uneven bending angles, large overall dimension deviations and misaligned lid seams. The fundamental reason lies in insufficient control of bending forming angles and loose dimension error management in the whole production process. This article elaborates on the production process standards of high-precision Rectangular Tin Boxes from two core dimensions: standardized forming angle design and full-process precise error control, and explains the key influence of angle technology and error control on the tightness, stacking fitness and finished product qualification rate of tin boxes.
The forming angle is the core foundation that determines the appearance regularity and structural stability of Rectangular Tin Boxes. All rectangular tin boxes take standard 90° right angle as the core forming benchmark, and any slight deviation of each bending angle will directly affect the overall quality of finished products. For mass-produced qualified rectangular tin boxes, the connecting positions between four side walls and box bottom all adopt standard 90° vertical bending angle to avoid box deformation caused by acute angles or obtuse angles. Meanwhile, differentiated angle optimization is carried out for three key parts including box mouth flanging, lid clamping groove and corner edge wrapping: the box mouth adopts a gentle outward flanging angle of 12°, which can strengthen the hardness of box edge to prevent edge curling and deformation during transportation, and ensure smooth opening and closing experience of the lid; the built-in clamping groove of the lid adopts an inward convergence angle of 8° to realize seamless fitting between box body and lid and improve overall moisture-proof tightness; four corners adopt 45° angle cutting transition technology to reduce sharp right angles, improving hand feel and avoiding scratches, as well as making corner splicing gaps more uniform and beautiful.
Standardized angle design alone cannot guarantee consistent finished products, and strict full-process error control is the core barrier for high-quality Rectangular Tin Boxes mass production. We have established a control system much stricter than the general industry standard for three core error indicators: angle deviation, length and width dimension deviation, and diagonal deviation. The allowable angle error of ordinary rectangular tin boxes in the industry is ±0.5°, while our factory strictly controls all bending right angles, transition angles and flanging angles within ±0.1°. Each batch of products will be inspected by 2D image measuring instrument one by one to eliminate subtle angle skewness invisible to naked eyes.
Besides angle error, overall structural dimension errors are also controlled synchronously: the length and width error of box body is controlled within ±0.2mm, and the diagonal error is controlled within ±0.3mm, fundamentally solving box skewing and warping problems. Most low-cost rectangular tin boxes lack precise error control, excessive angle deviation will lead to loose lid fitting, tilting during stacking, uneven whole package and other problems. These defects not only damage product appearance, but also reduce packaging tightness, making them unqualified for moisture-proof food packaging such as biscuits, tea and chocolate.
Exclusive error detection nodes are set in six whole production processes including mold debugging, plate bending, corner splicing and post-leveling. Angle calibration is completed before mold startup, sampling re-inspection is conducted every 30 minutes during production, and full inspection is carried out before finished products delivery. Supported by precise angle technology and micron-level error control, these Rectangular Tin Boxes feature straight box body, uniform seamless fitting gaps and neat stacking performance. They are compatible with automatic packaging production lines, full-container sea transportation and supermarket shelf display. Customized processes like printing, embossing and window cutting are available. They are cost-effective and high-precision general rectangular metal packaging solutions.
